Rita Hope Counts: President & CEO

Rita Hope Counts

As the founder of BrightKey, Rita has set the tone for a corporate culture of loyalty and caring, building partnerships with staff, clients, and the greater business community. Taking a vital role in identifying market opportunities and ongoing client relations, Rita maintains frequent contact with clients to review project operations, objectives, future goals, and new service offerings. She applies her passion for marketing to the commercial, non-profit, and government sectors; and her hands-on approach means that she has managed every aspect of call center, warehousing, fulfillment, and mail processing projects. Active in the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), Rita is also a longtime supporter of animal welfare and sits on the board of the Anne Arundel County SPCA.

George Abunassar: Chief Information Officer

George Abunassar

With BrightKey since 1992, George’s experience and expertise covers the full range of information technology issues, particularly as they apply to association management systems. Clients rely on his consultative approach and expertise for systems analysis, development, implementation, and operation of online and batch applications. He identifies and solves complex technology issues for clients and builds solutions that balance customization with usability and best industry practices. George leads a talented team that has performed successful data conversions and project implementations for hundreds of fulfillment and management systems.

Jeffrey P. Coleman: Chief Operations Officer

Jeff Coleman

Working with BrightKey since 2014, Jeff not only provides leadership to the company’s operations directors, but he also maintains ongoing contact with clients to ensure that their budgetary, schedule, and business goals are met. He brings to bear his considerable expertise in facilities and operations management to address ever-changing client needs. He fosters a spirit of innovation and helps to find solutions that drive growth for BrightKey clients and their programs. He evaluates new service offerings and strives to introduce technologies and services that improve efficiencies, streamline operations, and keep clients ahead of the curve. With a background in engineering and logistics, Jeff worked as a member of BrightKey’s Innovative Mail Solutions team for two years prior to assuming the COO responsibilities.

John Mattingly: Chief Financial Officer

John Mattingly

John has close to 40 years of experience in the financial sector, serving as a Chief Financial Officer for the majority of his career. He brings his astute, conservative yet visionary approach to the management of BrightKey’s financial health. His experience in both the government, nonprofit, and commercial arenas has provided him with a wealth of knowledge in different types of costing and financial profitability. As a retired US Naval Commander, he deeply understands the management of all types of individuals at all organizational levels. His direct management style fosters a “can-do,” productive environment. He manages all financial institution relationships, leasing negotiations and agreements, pricing structure development, and escalation strategies. 

Sally Roffman: Chief Strategy Officer

Sally Roffman

Sally provides clients with overarching direction and analysis throughout every engagement. Sally brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing communications and campaign creation and implementation for every industry including high tech, health care and health sciences, associations, financial services, consumer goods, publishing, and government. Sally frequently works as a close advisor to many CEOs and executive leaders on the strategic brand building of their organizations. She developed the proprietary QuickStart Research methodology that has enabled her team to get up to speed quickly on the particular marketing and sales requirements of a wide variety of industries. She started BrightKey’s Strategic Outreach department, which operates under the Strategic Marketing Division.

Diane Kelly: Chief Administration Officer

Diane Kelly

Diane has more than 27 years of experience in human resources management, training, contract administration, quality control, and MIS operations for government service, private sector, and nonprofit contracts. Her entire career has concentrated in coordinating and controlling diverse high activity, labor-intensive operations. 

Don Dilks: Chief Government Officer

Don Dilks

Don joined BrightKey in 2008 to manage and expand the Federal Services Division, and he manages the operation, staffing, cost control, reporting, and overall management of all federal contracts. The rapid growth of this BrightKey Division has included high-profile projects in mail management, warehousing, and related support services. In addition, he has championed the installation of negative pressure mailroom suites to increase security for the inbound mail process. With more than 40 years of experience in the startup and management of large-scale distribution, warehousing, records management, data processing, mail processing, and administrative service contracts.
